American M1840 Heavy Cavalry Sword.

35 1/4 inch, single edged, slightly curved blade.  Large fuller.  Forte stamped “Sheble & Fisher PH.Lad”.  Brass, three bar guard and shaped pommel. Leather covered ribbed grip.  Contained in its steel scabbard with two loose hanging rings.  Some wear to grip.

This pattern of sword was carried during the American Mexican war and was also carried by Union Cavalry during the American Civil War.
