5th Dragoon Guards Special Pattern Wilkinson Solid Hilt Officer's Sword
34 1/2 inch, single edged blade with fuller. Etched scroll foliage panels, crowned ERVII cypher, Kings crown 5th Dragoon Guards badge, family crest and owner's entwined initials "RC". Forte with maker "Henry Wilkinson Pall Mall London" with royal warrant coat of arms over "Patent Solid Hilt". Back edge numbered "39517" (1902). Steel scroll foliage pierced bowl guard. Steel checkered pommel and backstrap. Black composite, checkered slab grips with twist wire binding. Contained in its steel scabbard with loose hanging rings. Complete with leather and gilt wire acorn sword knot.
Possibly carried by Lieutenant R. Carr who was appointed a Lieutenant in the 5th Dragoon Guards on the 29th August 1901
