French short khaki tunic probably of a French North African unit. Good scarce example, the collar retains only one gilt metal crescent collar-badge. Five metal half-ball buttons down front. Internal pockets with external flaps. One pocket contains a pair of khaki insignia patches with two small strips of gold lace, probably removed from lower sleeves. Unlined. VGC ... Together with a heavy khaki jacket with large collar much as for an overcoat. Bronzed domed buttons. Interior bears stamps, including 'Commission de Reception'. GC (2 items) The crescent was an emblem featured by many French units, notably Spahis, Saharan Companies and Tirailleurs. 2 items
