Mid 19th Century Percussion Hunting Rifle By "Smith London"

.650 carbine, 30 1/2 inch, rifled, octagonal barrel.  Lower rib with ramrod pipes.  Front stud sight.  Rear, flip up V sight.  Top flat engraved "Smith London" with floral scroll engraving which continues onto the tang.  Early pattern lock plate with chamfered edge and stepped tang.  Foliage engraving with maker "Smith".  Rear sliding safety damaged.  Large percussion hammer with scroll engraving.  Polished half stock woodwork with checkered wrist and left side cheek piece. Large, steel patchbox with stand of arms engraving.  Steel butt plate, scroll trigger guard and ramrod pipe.
