1st Middlesex Engineer Volunteers Victorian busby plume holder grenade badge c. 1860-71. Good rare die-stamped white metal flaming grenade, the domed ball bearing a plan of fortification on which is superimposed the head of Mars. The flames bear heart shaped shield with EV cypher; emerging from behind the shield, a trident. Long slider and provision for plume. Minor service wear GC.
