Canadian 97th Algonquin Rifles post 1904 helmet plate. Good scarce die-stamped example by J.R. GAUNT & SON LTD LONDON. Blackened brass Maltese cross, ball finials to the points, surmounted by a crown resting on CANADA. On the cross, within a maple sprays, a circlet ALGONQUIN RIFLES; carabou’s head to centre 97 between the antlers; lower arm bears motto scroll. Two loops.GC
