French 13th Infantry Regiment Officer's shako plate circa 1823. Fine rare die-stamped fire gilt large example. Crowned lined shield bearing three fleur-de-lys resting in laurel sprays; below, a floral decorated Amazon shield mounted with seeded gilt plaque with pierced stencilled 13. Two small holes either side to facilitate stitching to shako. VGC
