single edged, curved, 31 inch blade. Hilt with fire gilt bar guard, which in place of the crowned GR cypher is decorated with a flaming grenade with a wreath. The shagreen gip retains twist wire binding and is surmounted by a lion head pommel. Housed in black leather and gilt mounted scabbard. The blade with some areas of pitting and appears to have been polished, no decoration remains. Gilt to the hilt remains bright.
