WW2 Period American Office of Strategic Services (OSS) Fairbairn-Sykes Commando fighting knife. A good and rare example of the pattern modelled on the British F-S Fighting Knife. Double edged spear point blade mounted into a Parkerised metal chequered cut grip, with oval cross guard. Housed in brown leather scabbard tailored with "pancake flipper" belt loop, both flipper and chape retaining most of the original green painted finish. GC clean condition. Blade length 16 cm This pattern of knife was extensively used by the OSS during WW2 operations and was again carried into action by the CIA during the Bay of Piggs invasion
