Good scarce die-stamped silvered crowned star mounted by Thistle star bearing THE ROYAL SCOTS and 5TH VOLUNTEER BATTALON scrolls; green enamel centre with pierced circlet NEMO ME IMPUNE LACESSIT surrounding Thistle. Three loops. Enamel slightly defective otherwise VGC Helmets discontinued in June 1915
