.577, 36 1/2 inch, rifled barrel.  Front blade sight.  Rear ladder sight.  Plate marked "1862 Enfield'.  The tang with crowned VR cypher.  Military pattern hammer.  Polished full stock woodwork.  Minor damage to top.  Brass butt plate, trigger guard and end cap.  Three steel barrel bands and sling swivels.  Ramrod absent.
