Scottish. Aberdeenshire Rifle Volunteers Victorian shako plate circa 1861-78. Good scarce die-stamped brass crowned star of the Order of the Thistle. Two loops. Lead strengthening to reverse of crown. Loops. Otherwise VGC. Most likely worn by units of the 2nd Administrative Battalion (HQ Tarves).
