Scarce Boer War/WW1 Attributed Horseman's Knife
checkered horn slab grips. One side with white metal panel engraved "M A Waterer". Large, single edged blade marked "Thomas Turner Sheffield". Similar, smaller blade marked "Encore". Double edged, small blade with side opening stud. Forte marked " T Turner & Co Cutlers To His Majesty". Rear spine with end hook which lifts up to reveal a corkscrew, small spike and corer. One end of the grip with pull out spike. White metal lanyard ring. Blades with some edge knocks.
Michael Anthony Waterer. Lt Royal Monmouthshire Royal Engineers, attached RAF 6 Sqn. Died of wounds 11/10/1918 while a POW. Wounds received 8/10/1918 in RE8 No F6013 as an Observer. His pilot, Captain W Walker DFC was killed.
