1846 Pattern Infantry Sword by Wilkinson of London c. 1865. A good example with single-edged straight blade decorated with crowned VR entwined cypher. The forte with cutler’s details of Wilkinson of London and the back of the blade with the number 13643 (1865). Gilt metal fixed guard with crowned VR cypher, shagreen grip with copper twist wire binding. Housed in original black leather and gilt mounted scabbard. GC Etching clear minor wear. The Wilkinson records confirm that sword was purchased on the 27th January 1865.
