Westmoreland & Cumberland Yeomanry Cavalry Victorian Officer's shabraque or horse saddle cloth. A fine and scarce example from the latter half of the 19th century. Dark blue cloth with pointed ends edged with red cloth backed silver lace of regimental pattern. The front quarters with large silver bullion WCYC cypher surmounted by a large gold embroidered Crown; the hind quarters are of similar design with the addition of an oakleaf spray below and a star below the spray. One or two small patches of moth, overall service wear with one or two stitching faults, bullion and lace fresh. The Colin Doy Cavalry Collection
