Badge. Somersetshire Light Infantry Victorian Officer's helmet plate circa 1881-1901. Fine gilt crowned star mounted with Garter and laurel sprays bearing silver scroll SOMERSETSHIRE LIGHT INFANTRY. Black velvet centre mounted with silver bugle strung from mural crown surmounted by JELLALABAD; Sphinx on EGYPT between the cords. Three loops. Defect to left point of star, scroll sprung one end otherwise GC.
