Boer War Royal Field Artillery Casualty Queen's South Africa Medal. Awarded to "75685 SGT J GUNTER RFA". Bearing the two clasps "Cape Colony", "Driefontein" Sergeant James Gunter enlisted during November 1889 and saw service in India, prior to his posting to South Africa arriving in January 1900. On the 14th July 1900 he died of disease at Johannesburg.
