French Napoleonic War Period Engineer’s /Pioneers Officer’s Saw Back Sword.

slightly curved, 29 1/2 inch blade with a small amount of engraved decoration and saw back edge. The hilt with gilt metal shell guard and single bar guard.  Leather grip with twist wire binding.  Housed in leather scabbard with gilt chape only. The overall condition is good retaining traces of gilt finish. One small section of bar guard absent. Leather supple.
