Scottish 79th (Cameron) Highlanders Officer's dirk. A scarce Post 1901 example. The clipped back blade is double edged for the lower section both sides with etched decoration depicting Regimental title and devices, also the Battle Honours of the Regiment the last being The Nile 1884-86. The black bogwood grip is of an interlaced design decorated with silver studs and surmounted by a gilt pommel ornamented with a foiled citrine. Housed in original black patent leather covered scabbard, the gilt mounts embossed with thistle devices. Also the details of R.G. Lawrie Glasgow and Edinburgh. The blade is a length 26 cm and has been re-pointed. Miniature knife and fork absent from the scabbard.
