5th Royal Irish Lancers Edwardian lance cap. A good scarce patent leather body, peak and crown with ornate gilt metal fleur bosses to each corner. The upper section is of scarlet cloth. Victorian regimental lance plate to front with battle honours. Lion’s head bosses support brass and leather-backed chin chain. Woollen boss with crowned VR button to centre supports a dark green horsehair plume mounted in gilt metal plume holder. Leather and waxed cotton lining with issue stamps to the interior for 1902. Good clean condition. GC
