Berkshire Regiment helmet plate circa 1881-85. Good rare die-stamped brass crowned star bearing laurel sprays and detachable circlet inscribed BERKSHIRE; Stag and Oak to voided centre. Two toned loops to reverse of star, two of threee to centre. Minor service wear. VGC The Regiment were granted the title Royal on 29th September 1885; reflected in the helmet plate.
