Boer War / WW1 6th Dragoon Guards / ASC Group of Four Medals. Awarded to Corporal Hugh Robertson of Glasgow, who served during the Boer War with the 6th Dragoon Guards and once again volunteered to serve with the Army Service Corps during WW1. Comprising: Queen's South Africa Medal four clasps "Relief of Kimberley", "Paardeberg", "Driefontein", "Transvaal" "3549 PTE H ROBERTSON 6/DRGN GDS" (early style engraved naming), King's South Africa Medal, 2 clasps "South Africa 1901", "South Africa 1902", "CPL 6 DRGN GDS", British War Medal, Victory Medal, "DM2-196036 COPL H ROBERTSON ASC". Medals loose ... Accompanied by a small quantity of original paperwork. Corporal Hugh Robertson enlisted with the 6th Dragoon Guards in 1896 at Preston, although he was a native of Glasgow. He served in South Africa from November 1899 until August 1902, during this period he served a short period back in the UK. In 1902 he was posted to India until he was discharged in 1904 to the Reserve and received his final discharge in 1908. He rejoined the Army in July 1916 with the Army Service Corps and was discharged to the reserve in February 1919.
