WW2 RAF 547 Squadron WOM/AG Long Book and Group of Medals. Awarded to 1432610 Sergeant Francis Edward George Aische, who held the unusualy aircrew catagary of Wireless Operator Mechanic / Air Gunner with 547 Squadron Coastal Command.

RAF Observers or Air Gunner's Log Book covering the period July 1943 to November 1946 ... RAF Service and Release Book ... 1968 UK Commercial Pilot's Licence. Sergeant Francis Edward George Aische joined the RAF on the 5th April 1942. He began flying on the 4th July 1943 at No.10 Radio school, air gunnery and WT operator training. His log records on the 25th January 1944 whilst at 111 (C) OTU his trade WOM/AG. He joined 547 Squadron operating the four engine Liberator aircraft, his first operation, an Anti Submarine Patrol of 10 hours. He continued similar ops with 547 until June 1945 and was then transfered to 59 Squadron also flying the Liberator. His last flight was on the 18th November 1946 in a Halifax of 1333 TSCU his trade listed as WOM. He had flown a total of some 942 hours.
