Saxony Imperial German Infantry WW1 Officer's pickelhaube. Fine scarce example. Skull, gilt metal bound front peak and rear peak of black fibre. Skull bearing gilt circular base plate, secured by four stars, pearl-ring and detachable slender spike; gilt spine. Front bears gilt star mounted with silver crowned Saxon crest; leather backed gilt chinscales supported by bosses with fluted state and national cockades. Two part brown silk liner and scalloped edged leather sweatband complete with gold embossed Depaheg Patent logo . VGC
