4th Devonshire Rifle Volunteer Corps Victorian helmet plate badge c. 1880-85. Good scarce die-stamped white metal crowned star bearing laurel wreath circlet 4th DEVONSHIRE R.V. CORPS , the centre with Exeter Castle on SEMPER FIDELIS scroll. Three bent toned loops. VGC 6th Devon RC redesignated in 1880 as 4th; became 4th VB in November 1885. HQ at Barnstaple.
