60th King’s Royal Rifle Corps Officer's helmet plate badge circa 1878-81. Fine, scarce short lived die-stamped blacked silvered Maltese cross, lions between the arms, surmounted by a crown resting on a scroll inscribed PENINSULA. On the cross, a circlet THE KING'S ROYAL RIFLE CORPS, to the centre a strung bugle with 60. The arms of the cross bearing honours. Beneath the bottom arm, a scroll CELER ET AUDAX. Two of three loops.
