Imperial German Officer's sword. Good example by Ewald Cleef, Solingen with plated, slightly curved 75 cm blade, etched with floral designs. Ribbed shagrin grip with twist wire binding, gilded lion head pommel, trophy of arms and knight's hem decorated knuckle bow; rectangular langets, the obverse bearing crossed swords and wreath, the reverse one plain. Housed in black painted steel scabbard complete with loose suspension ring. Wear to grip otherwise GC.
