Napoleonic War Period Oxford University Volunteers Sword. A scarce example, the straight single edged blade with engraved decoration depicting a Crowned GR cypher. The hilt with a single fire gilt bar guard. The white chequered grip, mounted with a gilt metal band and cartouche engraved with a crowned entwined initials “OUV” device. Scabbard absent.
