Canadian 97th Algonquin Rifles post 1904 Officer's helmet plate. Scarce heavy die-cast silvered Maltese cross, ball finials to the points, surmounted by a crown resting on CANADA black enamel tablet. On the cross, within a maple sprays, a black enamel circlet ALGONQUIN RIFLES; carabou’s head to centre 97 between the antlers; lower arm bears motto scroll. Two replacement loops and reenamelled otherwise GC.
