45th (Nottinghamshire) Regiment of Foot Officer shoulder belt plate circa 1832-55. Fine scarce burnished gilt rectangular plate mounted with cut silver star, the principal rays overlaid in gilt and bearing battle honours. Mounted on the star, a gilt crowned title strap inscribed 1ST NOTTINGHAMSHIRE REGT; to the centre, gilt milled numerals 45 on a domed gilt ground. A scroll inscribed PENINSULA across the bottom three rays. Reverse with two hooks and two studs,complete with leather backing. VGC (Parkyn 367)
