Badge. 55th (Westmoreland) Regiment of Foot Officer's helmet plate circa 1878-81. Fine scarce gilt crowned star pattern mounted with Garter and laurel sprays silver Dragon. Black velvet centre bearing 55. Three screw posts. Central numerals and velvet with some wear. Generally VGC. Became 2nd Bn, Border Regiment on Friday 1st July, 1881.
