9th Lancers Boer War Casualty two clasp Queen's South Africa Medal. Awarded to 2908 CORPL G W BENCE 9/ LCRS (Early style engraved naming), bearing the two clasps REILEF OF KIMBERLEY, PAARDEBERG. Corporal G W Bence is confirmed as being awarded the two clasps. He died of disease on the 10th June 1900 at Bloemfontein. He is commemorated at the Holy Trinity Church Bradford-on-avon, Wiltshire and the Royal Garrison Church at Aldershot.
