French Horizon Blue tunic, possibly for a Sous-officier. Good scarce example made of coarser material and of slightly different pattern to previous lot but with similar Grenade buttons and with upright collar with Horizon Blue collar-patches bearing the number 44 in metal (one digit missing). Pointed end of patches has black edge and red dot. Moth damage. In one pocket is a Volunteer Croix de Guerre medal and ribbon. Together with a French Officer's red breeches with wide black cloth stripes down side seams. Trade label of Belle Jardiniere, Paris and name label to M.Blanschoing? Moth damage and small repairs. Note: Trousers and breeches in this colouring were worn by many French regiments, including Cuirassiers, Dragoons and supply Train.
