Rifle Brigade Defence of Ladysmith Victorian Campaign Group of Three Medals. Awarded to 4121 PTE R. BAILEY RIFLE BRIGADE. Comprising: Queens Sudan Medal, 4121 PTE 2/ R. BDE, Queens South Africa Medal, three clasps Defence of Ladysmith, Laings Nek, Belfast, 4121 PTE RIFLE BRIGADE, Khedive Medal, clasp Khartoum (unnamed as issued). Medals loose. Private Richard Baily from Yarmouth enlist on the 4th November 1895, he was posted to the Sudan in July 1898 and his records show he was present at the occupation of Crete. He arrived in South Africa on the 2nd October 1899, he returned to the UK in October 1901 and was discharged as unfit on the 20th April 1902
