Highland Light Infantry Field Officer's Special Pattern Sword

32 3/4 inch, double edged blade with two narrow fullers repeated to the forte.  Etched crowned "ERVII" cypher and crowned "HLI" bugle with foliage panels.  Steel foliage pierced bowl guard.  Checkered backstrap.  Shagreen covered grip with twist wire binding.  Contained in its steel, Scottish pattern scabbard with two loose hanging rings.  Complete with later gilt sword knot.
