WW1 1st Bn Royal West Kent 1914 Mons Star 1916 Casualty Group of Three Medals. Awarded to L-8176 PTE C NOBLE R W KENT R.
Comprising: 1914 Star, 8176 PTE C NOBLE 1/R W KENT R, British War Medal, Victory Medal L-8176 PTE R W KENT R.
Medals loose, retaining original silk ribbons. Private Chris Noble a pre war regular soldier landed in France on the 27th November 1914. On the 25th July 1916 he was acting as runner to Lieutenant Healy the Battalion Adjutant on a night trench raid they had gone forward and Lt Healy received a gunshot wound to the stomach, Noble was ordered to place him in a shell hole and go back to get help, on returning to his own line Noble was also wounded and was only able to make the British line as day broke and it was impossible to go out and recover Healy who died. Noble died of his wounds on the 26th July 1916.
