49th (The Princess Charlotte of Waless or Hertfordshire) Regiment of Foot Victorian Officers shoulder belt plate circa 1843-55.
Fine scarce seeded gilt rectangular plate with raised burnished edges; mounted with crowned circlet PRINCESS CHARLOTTE OF WALES resting in laurel sprays entwined with battle honours over CHINA and Dragon. Burnished centre with seeded 49 resting on a Union spray with HERTFORDSHIRE above. (Parkyn 388)
