A good scarce matching set of flight section Major’s aluminium wire piped yellow felt each bearing aluminium wire gull wing with an oakleaf sprays ... pair of yellow backed Major’s shoulder boards ... aluminium wire breast eagle and swastika. Very slight wear with minor oxidisation. VGC (5 items)

Lieutenant Colonel Robert Nelson Hamilton OBE was a graduate of Imperial College and later Cambridge and it was here he is believed to have been recruited for the Security Services. He and his wife were posted to Germany within weeks of the end of WW2, with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, under the cover story of helping to rebuild the telephone communication network. It was during those early post war years that he collected his selection of war souvenirs.
