British 1796 Infantry Officer's Sword

31 1/2 inch, single edge blade with large fuller.  Traces of etched GR cypher and coat of arms.  Gilt brass, double shell guard with folding rear section.  Gilt brass crossguard, D shape knuckle bow and urn pommel.  Copper, one piece bound grip.  Contained in its leather scabbard with brass chape and middle hanging mount.  Throat absent.
