.650 carbine, 20 inch, smoothbore barrel.  Front blade sight.  Rear V sight.  Breech with proof stamps and "1844 Enfield". Military pattern lock plate with line edge engraving.  Marked crowned VR cypher and "Tower 1844".  Military pattern percussion hammer.  Polished full stock woodwork.  Brass butt plate, double loop trigger guard, ramrod pipe and end cap.  Steel swivel ramrod and saddle bar with ring.
