Badge. Royal Sherwood Foresters or Nottinghamshire Regt. of Militia Victorian Officer's helmet plate circa 1878-81. Fine rare die-stamped silvered crowned star mounted with oak sprays enclosing gilt pierced strap ROYAL SHERWOOD FORESTERS on blue translucent ground; centrally gilt Stag lodged set on black velvet ground. Two loops. Toned otherwise VGC. Became 4th Bn. Derbyshire Regt. on Friday 1st July 1881.
