British M1842 Lovells Catch Socket Bayonet Regimentally Marked

17 1/2 inch, triangular form blade.  Flat face and hollow ground rear faces.  Forte with maker "Salter & Co" with Inspection stamps.  Steel shoulder and socket.  Top ring with cut away for Lovells catch.  Socket marked "B.E.P. 50". Contained in its brass mounted, leather scabbard  complete with white, buff leather frog.
