Hampshire Rifle Volunteers Victorian helmet plate badge c. 1880-85. Good scarce die-stamped white metal crowned star bearing laurel sprays and strap inscribed HANTS. RIFLE VOLUNTEERS; voided centre bearing shield charged with three roses (from Arms of Southampton). Unusally, but correct for this pattern of Hampshire helmet plate, there is a void between the crown and star. Three loops. VGC
