Good scarce die-stamped blackened brass crowned MR cypher, superimposed with 20, on ARTISTS surmounting Maltese cross with applied oval centre depicting conjoined heads of Mars and Minerva within CUM MARTE MINERVA motto. . Three loops . VGC Designed by J.W. Wyon. Unit raised as 38th Middlesex RV, renumbered 20th in 1880. 1908 28th County of London (Artists Rifles). 1947 became 21 Special Air Service (Artists).
