On the night of the 2nd January 1944 he was briefed for operations to Berlin, his aircraft was attacked and shot down by a night fighter at Ramsel near Lingen and he now rests in Reichswald Forest War Cemetery. The CWGC list Constance Lilian Warwick, of Chevington, Suffolk as his wife, we assume she remarried by the time the medals were issued as initials match.
