39 inch, .577 barrel.  Rear leaf sight absent.  Military pattern lock plate with line engraved edge.  Stamped "1856 Tower". The tang with crowned VR.  Military percussion hammer.  Polished full stock woodwork.  Brass butt cap, trigger guard and end cap.  Three steel barrel bands secured by steel springs (1 absent).
