Scottish. 1st Fifeshire Rifle Volunteer Corps Victorian helmet plate circa 1880-87. Good scarce die-stamped blackened brass crowned star bearing laurel sprays and title strap; Thane of Fife to voided centre. Three loops. Top pearl absent; small hole about 6 o’clock. GC 1st Fifeshire RV became a VB of the Black Watch in 1881, redesignated 6th (Perthshire) VB Black Watch in 1887.
