9th Queens Royal Lancers Victorian / Edwardian lance cap. Good scarce example. Black patent leather body, peak and crown top with ornate gilt metal fleur bosses to each corner. Between the skull and mortar board, black ribbed cloth bearing ornate metal band. Front bears regimental post 1905 brass triangular fluted plate displaying Boer War honours. Gilt metal simulated cord boss with regimental button to centre supports a black and white horsehair plume, mounted in gilt metal plume holder. Complete with leather lined brass chinchain; the interior with leather and waxed cotton lining, also with a WD and 1895 date stamp . Minor age and service wear.
