18th (Henfield) Sussex Rifle Volunteers Officer's glengarry badge c. 1866. A good scarce die-stamped silver plated example. Crowned strap SUSSEX RIFLE VOLUNTEERS, centrally a shield bearing six martlets set on an ornamental ground. Loops. VGC Formed at Henfield 14th June 1860. Hugh King states this particular example was worn by an Officer of 18th although this pattern was worn by several other Sussex RV's. Provenance. Ex Hugh King Collection, Bosleys.
