Scottish. Victorian Officer's plaid brooch attributed to Royal Lanark Militia. A very fine and scarce unmarked hollow silver seeded silver domed disc with raised burnished silver rim; on the brooch, in relief, a seeded blank scroll (usually with unit title) surmounted by a crown; the remainder ornamented with thistle sprays. To the centre, a faceted glass foiled citrine. Stout contoured pin to reverse with bears scratched numerals. VGC
